Show us your images, the ones that you think represent Silicon Valley. Or, put your artistic flair to work and enter your own designs in our contest. We'll invite the public to pick their favorites, and the winning designs will be printed on fabric and exhibited at the 01SJ Biennial!

There are two components to the project: Inspiration and Design.

The fusionwear sv project is designed to create a visual vocabulary for a region that struggles to articulate its identity beyond its role as high tech mecca. Beginning on May 1, 2010, we invite you to upload your own images to help us create an image pool that captures the Silicon Valley experience.

The images will serve as inspiration for artist Corinne Takara Okada to create a unique fabric designs representative of SV. From that fabric, couture designer Colleen Quen will create a fashion piece that further elaborates on this visual expression of Silicon Valley.

Also, individuals whose images are used as inspiration in Takara's textiles will be given full credit in exhibit signage for resulting textiles, as well as in the BLURB book and ISSUU magazine.

Raffle! Everyone who enters a submission to the image pool will be entered into a raffle to win a pair of shoes made from the fusionwear sv fabric by Zazzle.com.

Textile Design Contest

Have your own design in mind?
You are invited to upload your very own textile designs that capture the Silicon Valley experience and enter them in our design contest. The five winning fabrics will be selected by online community voting. The winner will be announced on the website on June 12, 2010.

Prize! The five winning designs will be announced on June 8, 2010 on the fusionwear sv website. Each winner will receive the following:

- Exhibition of textiles based on the winning design at the San Jose Quilt & Textiles Museum during the 01SJ Biennial beginning September 16, 2010.
- Three yards of fabric printed with the winning design.
- Free membership to the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles for one year.

Below are the winning submissions. There were 46 image submissions and over 280 people who either voted online or in person at the SubZero Festival. Voting closed June 11th. Congratulations winners! Each will receive three yards of their fabric printed by Spoonflower. These fabrics will be exhibited at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles during the ZERO1 2010 Art & Technology Festival in September. Artists will receive their fabrics after the show.
